William and Mary Brickell purchase two tracts of land from Harriet English and her brother Richard Fitzpatrick. The property extends from the south side of the Miami River to Coconut Grove. The Brickells build a large home at the mouth of the river and establish a successful trading post with the Seminole Indians living nearby. [+ BRICKELL STORY]
