Santra Denis

Executive Director of The Miami Workers Center
Santra Denis is the Executive Director of The Miami Workers Center. She was previously chief programs officer at Catalyst Miami. Daughter of a domestic worker, Denis is a Miami native whose activism developed through her work as a community advocate. She is the founder of Avanse Ansanm, an organization that engages, connects and builds power among Haitian-American millennials, and serves on several community boards including the Community Advisory Board at Florida International University Research Center in Minority Institutions and the Miami Dade County Office of New Americans. Denis is also a New Leaders Council and Santa La fellow. She graduated from the University of Florida with a bachelor’s in health science, and from Florida International University with a master’s in public health focusing on policy and management. She is eager to prepare MWC to kick off a powerful next decade of organizing, community building and advocacy campaigns.
