Mileyka Burgos

Mileyka Burgos-Flores is a Dominican-American activist. She is the founding Executive Director of The Allapattah Collaborative, CDC, a non-profit organization focused on implementing place making techniques to foster identity, supporting wealth building strategies for marginalized communities of color and advocating for policies/procedures that support equitable, comprehensive and sustainable community development. She has dedicated much of her time to advocating for social justice in marginalized communities by establishing and assisting organizations focused on developing youth, empowering people, celebrating and preserving the cultural identity of Allapattah. Due to Mileyka’s efforts, Allapattah was recently awarded a Main Street Grant – the first ever to be awarded in Miami – that will assist in preservation business development, branding and promotion of Allapattah’s Little Santo Domingo’s Business Distrct, NW 17th Avenue. Mileyka brings passion and progressive thinking to finding solutions to ensure a better Allapattah for all.
